I like how he can’t accept that people hated him so much that they voted for Biden

Can’t decide which is funnier—how ratio’d that last tweet is, or that 13 people actually retweeted it.

I swear, my company is one step away from adding "to expose as many of our customers as possible to Covid-19" to our mission statement.

Sorry to be a downer but is anyone else really concerned that we may not ever get to the required vaccinated percentage of the population to achieve herd immunity? All the vaccine news is great and all but we have so many people in this country that have complete brain worms who don't believe this thing is real or it's not that bad, and if they don't even think the virus is real they're certainly not going to get a vaccination for it. Is the hope that the longer this goes on and the vaccines prove to work and drop our cases that you can somehow convince these people to take it? What's the strategy here?

Make it so you can’t eat at Applebee’s unless you’ve been vaccinated.
But seriously I have the same concern, people are idiots and the internet was a mistake

My hope is that schools and some businesses make it mandtory to work/attend/go there

  14. My guess is it’ll be regional to start, we’re gonna see clusters of breakouts in certain states for a while cause of this.

Yeah I'm operating on the assumption that schools/healthcare facilities will make it a requirement like they do with other vaccinations, but what legal authority do businesses actually have to make patrons show proof of vaccination? I've heard about Ticketmaster making it a requirement, but how can they actually do that? And HIPAA?

I’m sure arguments would be made on the basis of privacy and discrimination but not being vaccinated is not a protected status that would apply to most discrimination lawsuits and HIPAA only applies to improper disclosures not a request to show proof of vaccination. There is a strong public interest argument that would weigh against any invasion of privacy. Unfortunately courts are packed full of conservative judges so it would be a mess of bad decisions for a while, so really not ideal but it’s probably the best way to go.

Schools might be hesitant at first because it's a new vaccince but I think after a year or so it'll become a requirement there. Especially if the efficacy proves to be as high as the trials say. Mass. just made flu vaccines mandatory for next year I think and those aren't nearly as effective.

As far as I know, businesses can do pretty much whatever they want as long as it's not racist or sexist or etc. It'll definitely end up being a court case about privacy and/or religious rights though, so who knows

    NYC now/PGH forever

I work in a hospital and every year when we get our flu shot they give you a special little sticker that goes on your ID badge saying you received it - in past years if employees entered without the sticker on their ID they were given a face mask to wear around. Obviously this wouldn’t work in every setting but maybe some workplaces could implement something similar (ie if you haven’t been vaccinated you have to wear a mask at all times, get tested every week, etc)

Yeah I'm hoping that they'll definitely relax a bit here because of that, they've shown to be amenable during all of this this. Zoom, for example, was never HIPAA complaint but they've allowed healthcare facilities to use it for telemedicine appointments
