I wish Rush Limbaugh would die already.

 

I fucking hate when someone says not all cops are bad. Maybe as an individual, that cop isn’t walking around hoping to have an opportunity to fuck with poor people or people of color or homeless people. But they will when the job calls for it. They might not be a bad person in your eyes, but they’d be a better one if they weren’t a cop.

 

A friend of mine (he’s a a POC) said this to me yesterday:

“It’s easy on a surface level to think ‘not all cops are bad.’ The problem is, no matter how good your heart or your intentions, you work for an organization that is structured to suppress black people and let you off with murder.”

 

yeah, there was a poster in here who used to say that based on his experiences as a black person in America he felt like police were his enemy - that they had signed up to kill him and people in his community given the chance, and that they amounted to a terrorist force to him.

the roots of the modern american police department are in service to capital (slave-catching in the south, union-busting [esp. in immigrant communities] in the north)in ways that manifest themselves through white supremacy. It’s not a system that can be reformed, or a question of getting the right people into the right positions. It is designed to do this and it will do it until it’s dismantled.

 

This is such horseshit. They're privately run companies. Twitter should just ban him and be done with it. They should have banned him years ago.

Y'all, not gonna lie, I've been having trouble sleeping these past 2 days. Just too much to think about with the whole George Floyd fallout. I can't just shut my brain off when it feels like the world around me is collapsing.

Ugh, the NH governor says he cannot and will not make masks required in the state and I made the mistake of reading replies to our city's Facebook group with someone asking people's opinions if masks should be worn or not. I hate how selfish people are.

Guys I think we need another 30 columns in the opinion pages of the Times about how that college student with black rimmed glasses and crazy purple hair and 50 of her similar looking friends were shouting down Ben Shapiro once and how that is the death of free speech.
