Apparently the explanation for looting the Target is because they assisted the Minneapolis Police Department through Public Safety Grants??? This is a weird time to live in South Minneapolis.

 

It's definitely not just the Target at this point. I assume it's every place in that area, along with several other areas all along Lake Street.

 

Yeah, I saw the AutoZone too.

People alao are fucking pissed at Cup Foods for calling the cops, but they've also lost a lot of goodwill for allegedly covering up security footage exonerating Myron Burrell back in the day (when Amy Klobuchar was top prosecutor).

 

It took me way too long to realize that there is a separate business called Cup Foods and it wasn’t just everyone collectively misspelling Cub

Target is bad and evil and takes wealth out of the communities its stores are in

 

People don't just decide to start looting stores for no reason. The cops have been violently escalating the situation towards peaceful protesters for 2 days. You have to see it through the eyes of the community here. The guy was murdered in broad daylight and the cop STILL isn't arrested. People come out to demonstrate peacefully and they're met with tear gas and rubber bullets. There are children at these protests. At some point, the community is going to get angrier and angrier. They're going to push back against the cops and the city for not doing shit and constantly greeting protestors with weapons and violence. That's how you end up with looting and property damage. And as far as Target goes, their shit is all insured. They'll be fine. The cops brought this onto themselves.
