I work in a restaurant and I swear you would not be able to tell a pandemic is going on. We are beating our numbers from every year. Every night we’re doing between $30,000 and $40,000. I’m exhausted. I feel weak. Most nights I’m not getting home until midnight or 1:00. I am making money and most people are tipping, but I’ve been stiffed multiple times. Lots of southern families are coming in claiming it’s all a hoax still. They’re bringing their children out into these crowded places which scares the shit out of me.

Yeah I wouldn't let Joe Biden drive my kid or me anywhere because dude is 77 and god knows when the last time he actually drove something was haha.

I haven't read this whole thing yet but early on it feels way too much like it's trying to justify the staunch belief in Ford that Reade isn't getting.


But I have, however, had to have this argument with a lot of people about what the "believe women" or "beleive all women" actually means. The large majority of people using it early on never meant that whatever a woman says is taken as 100% the truth and we convict/force out of work/etc whoever the accused was. It started out being about how when women came forward with these stories in the past, they were written off as just being hysterical or lying to "go after" a man and etc, and their claims were never really investigated and justice was never ever served. Believing women meant changing that dynamic so that it wasn't automatically assumed the woman was lying and that she actually got a fair shake and an investigation into what happened. But like so many other things, the right wing hijacked iit and turned it into something it wasn't and now the discussion happens on their terms, like with everything else. It's annoying AF when I have to explain to otherwise smart people who retort with "Well what if a woman accused you of this and ruined your life?! Believe all women right?!" and I have to point out that I can support an investigation and the right for the woman to be heard and still maintain that I was innocent in such an event (not to mention pointing out that most women's intent when coming forward with allegations isn't simply to "Ruin a mans life", but, yeah)

 

Michigan is rolling out their safe openings starting with the upper peninsula an. Upper part of the lower peninsula. My girlfriends boss expects her whole district to be back by the third week of June.

 

I’m nervous as hell about this given Memorial Day weekend and the propensity for Metro Detroiters to flock northward.

 

Just got on FB and seeing some Local News posts about our governor delaying the opening of salons and barbers that was suppose to be Wednesday but now until early June and people are flipping the fuck out!
