The dumbassery on social media is at all time highs and that stupid “plandemic” thing on YouTube is making it worse

 

don't get me started on this.... as a microbiologist this almost gave me an aneurysm yesterday. I had to have long chats with 5 of my family members.

 

I can’t wait to cause a ruckus at local bars when they reopen when I see someone wearing maga merch.

 

I know some actually smart people that are taking it seriously, or at minimum just going with the “just asking questions!” Cop out. The internet is so bad.

 

I think I just had a guy admit to me he’s mad about the state restrictions because basically poor people “on assistance” aren’t adhering to them and, since that’s what he’s seeing, it means this isn’t that serious and the restrictions are stupid and should be rescinded.

I mean, blatant racism and the ignoring of the many reasons why poorer people may be less likely to do the ‘smart’ thing aside....poor, densely populated communities are getting hit the hardest! So, how in the blue hell is your argument “it’s not that bad” when the people you are claiming are not doing what the state tells them are the ones with higher rates of sickness and death? And, how is your solution to just, have that be what everyone does by taking the restrictions away?

 

yep that was basically some of my family too. It so scary how they can package all of it in such an insidious way that it comes off as perfectly rational (to many people at least). My aunt is a nurse and she even sent it to me being like, "just triple checking, but about this point...." Also hard for a lot of folks to google much of the information for answers and get a scientifically-backed source with all the anti-vaxx/pseudoscience BS out there.

 

Yeah ... I've decided I don't wanna know whatever that is ... gonna decide I'm better off not knowing.
