What fresh hell is this

 

Someone said it a few days ago... But how do you come out of this not wanting to burn down everything? The powers that be can just decide that it's ok for a million people to die?

On the day that the UK declares the most deaths in Europe, our health secretary is scolding a female doctor for asking basic questions of accountability.

 

I have a serious question for everyone on here. What are people planning on doing to stay safe now that Trump has shifted his focus entirely from coronavirus response to reopening the economy at a time when cases everywhere aside from New York State are still on the rise and nationally our deaths have plateaued at a very high rate? Is anyone considering not going back to the job they had before for safety reasons? Has anyone been trying to get ahold of more serious masks and other PPE?

My wife and I had talked about me maybe cooling it on my mask purchases, but everything I am seeing is pointing towards this situation getting a lot fucking worse before it gets better, and that getting better time may be a lot further off than people want to admit.

A good example is the child-size KN95 masks I bought: at first she was frustrated and annoyed at me for wasting the money on them, because our kids almost exclusively stay at home right now and only go outside to our yard or other outdoor spaces away from other people and not stores or anything like that. But then I told her that my thinking on those was that if one of us died - most likely me because of how much I have been working around sick people - only one of us would be left to do stuff like grocery shopping and would not be able to leave 4 & 5 yr old kids home alone while you went out to buy stuff. They'd have to go shopping too. And those mini KN95s took a long time to get delivered and they were a maybe the whole time anyway, like I rolled the dice on them and knew there was a good chance someone had scammed me.

If one of us were gone or incapacitated and the other was stuck with no way to ensure the kids can stay safely at home, that is not the time to then try to figure everything out.

 

Would you really expect any other name coming from Elon musk and grimes earth child?

Yea it seems the majority of ppl are gonna be forced to resume life mostly normally and take on the risks themselves. Can't depend on the govt or corporate america to ever do the right thing so... went back to work full time last week and my whole thing is just trying to minimize the risks as much as I can within reason. Wearing a mask when I'm in public close to other ppl and not going out for shit besides work and groceries. Not really much else to be done.

 

Try being a border state with them
