My girlfriend's boss is being such a dick about reopening the salon, saying they'll use shower curtains to divide workstations, and just a bunch of other ridiculous shit. When they complained he said they need to reopen because "God knows I haven't seen a god damn dime these 5 weeks". That can't be true right? That small businesses have gotten $0 from the government?

Her pregnant coworker said "if we have to do all these things we shouldn't open." And he said something like "if every business shutdown the world would grind to a halt. And I know I have to let the unemployment office know as soon as I reopen and have offered your jobs back". Threatening their employment. Ugh. Fuck off man

 

a lot of small businesses couldn't get loans because the government had limited funds and somehow "the small business loans" went to publicly traded companies and Shake Shack, but he's still being a dick

 

Damn I do remember about that money mysteriously going to companies like Shake Shack, but I didn't realize some small businesses got nothing - I guess I assumed they got something, but just an unreasonably small amount. Thanks for filling me in there.

Yep definitely being a dick. Her coworker just straight up called him out saying "if we do all these protocols, we will make zero commission or tips. Will you raise our payscale then?" It's good to see them all getting angry together about it.
