Is this a real thing? I feel like the word “potential” is the key here. I feel like we would hear more about a closer lead to a vaccine but this feels like CBS click bait.

it’s been reported on in a few places. They’re far ahead partially because they had already developed some vaccines for animals for MERS and, since they already proved safety in humans with that vaccine, they’re gonna be doing Phase 2 and Phase 3 ay the same time basically.

it doesn’t mean it’s going to work, but the September timeline is due to them being ahead of the curve on presumed safe use in humans based on their previous vaccine work

Is there any thinking or planning going into how to keep workers in meat processing plants safe? Are any changes being implemented? Or are they really just going to force people into going back to work there sacrificially???

 

Don't know about the order itself, but I know Tyson has been sayign they're gonna put plexiglass dividers between workers on the line and I think PPE as well. Not much, this shit seems to spread like crazy indoors

 

I honestly don't feel like anyone thinks it is safe for people to get back to work at this point. I truly believe the governors making that call right now know full well that they are putting people at risk but they think the economic benefit outweighs the health and safety of certain types of people. It is going to put a lot of people into the position where staying home means you effectively quit and forfeit your job because you are making the right choice for the health and safety of your family, and it will boot you off of unemployment.

 

Heads up folks: just got a receipt in the mail from the IRS for the stimulus direct deposit, and you can't escape Trump's big, dumb signature even on that lol. He isn't only signing paper checks

 

Yeah I got a letter or whatever I guess you could call it a receipt. I don’t know how it’s not considered campaign material but there’s no real oversight on trump clearly so I’m not surprised it’s just being allowed

 

It’s so fucking lame he actually went through any kind of effort to send that shit out.

 

Haha yeah I didn't actually look at mine because I didn't feel like washing my hands again, but my girlfriend described hers. Wasn't sure if "receipt" was the right word for it

 

Today was stressful and emotional. I was outside in our shed getting our ladder out when I heard a loud smack followed by my wife screaming. Ran out to find that my two year old daughter had climbed onto the trampoline (we got it for my son who’s a little older), started hopping with the zipper to the net wide open, and had fallen backwards out of the trampoline and onto the concrete below. She was laying there on the ground completely still. Felt like I could literally see time passing in front of me. My wife picked her up and she wasn’t moving and we both panicked. She finally came to and whimpered, started to cry briefly, inhaled to cry harder, and then just stopped making any sounds. She passed out and we rushed her to the hospital while I held her in my arms. She woke up and started puking and choking and we had to fight to keep her awake. We finally got to the hospital and they would only allow one of us to go in so my wife went in. They kept her for hours and the CAT scan showed no bleeding or fractures. They finally let her go and told us to observe her throughout the night. My wife got home and then told me that they had no choice but to walk her directly through the Covid wing where she did her best to squeeze past the tents set up in the hallway. She was then sat near a gentleman hacking up a lung and now we’re all worried about this too.

I’m having nightmares tonight.

oh my god, I can’t imagine. My 9 month old topples over and my heart stops. I’m so glad she’s doing well enough to be home.
