been somewhat distant from the thread since bernie's announcement trying not to let the existential dread set in and then i just got out of the shower and remembered this and now it's really set in. my dad isn't voting now, he's in missouri which is obviously going to trump so it ultimately doesn't matter, but god fucking damnit it was years of work just to get my dad to do it and it doesn't matter and im never going to forgive the dnc/democrats ever again fuck them fuck joe biden

There's apparently a push in PA to loosen the essential business lockdown that Gov. Wolf instituted.

Sounds like a bill passed in the PA House almost completely across the party line, & the state Senate currently has the support to pass it there tomorrow. Won't happen unless Wolf himself signs off on it, of course; he's said he'd look at it, but also talked about how opening up too soon would be bad. The only PA House Republicans who voted "no" w/ the Democrats were a couple in the southeastern area... in areas hit especially hard by the virus.

Wonder what this battle between flattening the curve & opening the economy will mean when November comes around, especially since PA is such an important swing state. Though in the short term, I'm mostly just concerned that the screen printing shop I work at doesn't open sooner than it should.

26,000 Americans dead in two months due to negligence, and somehow we still have to convince people that he's doing a bad job.

Tom Wolf along with several other northeast governors announced yesterday they were creating a council to restore the economy and take collective regional action on lifting any orders. So, unless all the other states agree to do it too (which I don’t see happening anytime soon), looks like he won’t be signing anything that were to pass

Went to bed last night without receiving the stimulus. Woke up this morning and they've been deposited for my wife and me.

Haven't received my stimulus, neither has my mom, and neither of us can actually get any information out of the IRS portal that just went up. At wits end. If only the IRS were more transparent about what the actual fuck they're doing.

So, this entire thing is likely going to be a mess today.

Lots of people are receiving DD based upon 2018 returns, even if they've filed for 2019. So, many folks who have changed banks, had their bank close, etc, are a SOL at the moment. I'm not sure if it's this way for everybody yet.

Regarding the new 'Get My Payment' portal on the IRS website, majority of people using it aren't getting any information out of it at all, and are instead getting an incredibly vague "Payment Status Not Available" message.

Additionally, if you enter your info more than 3-5 times, they will lock you out for 24 hours.
