The one company that owns like half of the party bars in the big party beach town in Delaware just posted that they’re still gonna pay all the bands that have been booked going forward even if they’re closed down (as they are right now)

 

I understand why his statement is problematic, but what is he suppose to say, don’t vote? They should just postpone them at this point

I just had the longest argument with my girlfriend about how angry I will be with her if she goes to that escape room and dinner with her work. She told her boss about the confirmed case in that town and that I don't feel comfortable with her going because I am immunocompromised and he shrugged it off

I argued enough where I said I don't care what excuse she needs to make and that I will happily call him myself. She finally got it and isn't going. I hate getting in a fight and I'm sure she's going to be mad at me, but you know what? I'd rather be in a fight than risk both our lives

 

I guess it might not really matter anyways if she still has to go to work with them and they're all still going though sadly, so I don't know if I picked that fight for no reason. This is horrible for my mental health, I don't know what the right thing to do is

 

I definitely don't think it was for nothing. I think this is exactly the tough conversation / fight that the entire country needs to be having. I think way too many people aren't serious at this point and that directly leads to what Italy is going through for us in a not very long time. Every little bit helps.

Something growing / spreading exponentially is scary as fuck but that same math means your small changes can have large impacts. Why it's so crucial to get as many people on board as possible.

Just got an email (on my high school email) that Abercrombie is closing all stores. Wondering if this is gonna cascade through all the mall brands. As a former retail manager, I’ve been thankful I made the jump last summer as this goes on. Glad to see someone is trying to protect some Of those folks, too.

 

Cool. My girlfriend came home on her break and had a complete meltdown because her clothing company, Torrid, which is the same company as Box Lunch and Hot Topic, have been just dismissive and silent on closing while hollister, Abercrombie among other stores have closed. She’s been with the company in three different stretches that amounts to 7 of the last 10 years of her life across three different states and regions of this country.

What an amazing fucking system we perpetuate in America.

 

Friend of mine's mom is convinced she can't get sick from going to church cause God would never allow that and drank from the cup at Mass last week because "it's the blood of Christ" and thinks she won't get sick from that either. These people are insane

 

feels like if you’re gonna go with an income cutoff, 250K would make more sense considering just 10 years ago that was the “not rich enough to pay more taxes cutoff” during the the tax hike negotiations

 

yeah and it certain cities that income is still way below middle class

 

Thank God my girlfriend just came home and was very reassuring and making sure I know she's not angry with me and understanding a relationship is a give and take and that she loves me. She's bummed, but she understands, and her mom even told her she thinks I'm probably right and it's only a matter of time before we start following the other states.

Church of England over here has issued official guidelines on this: no drinking the wine, and the minister has to drop the bread into the recipients hand. It's kinda baffling to me that they don't just order people to forgo it altogether, but I definitely know the type who think that God will miraculously keep them safe from it.

 

Well, good point... OTOH did you forget you've gotta make sure you means-test out at least a handful of families who can call themselves "middle class" to torpedo the whole thing?
