But there's no evidence that it will score votes right now where it's needed. The persuasion strategy in MI, WI, OH, PA, and Florida is based around the issues that key demo voters are ranking as their most important. Any time and money not spent talking about those issues is not a good use of time.

For example, there's some evidence that legalization is a tricky issue with the Latino demographic, where Biden is already on shaky ground in places like Florida. (Polling has been back and forth on this from 2016-2020, it's sort of unclear and is very age specific in the aggregate.) I'm not going to trade more votes in any state if it's going to cost votes in Florida. It's not a simple and clear win for the campaign. It's also not ranked as very important to voters right now, so the data says it won't hurt him either.

(Also, I bet if he wins and we win the Senate and shit calms down in the next two years, the bills get passed and he signs them.)

I saw someone screenshot a cart they got in Illinois earlier today and it was $77 for the cart (with a sale discount). Fuuuck that. The tax itself was over $20

Damn. That's interesting and a point I never considered. I'll have to read into that. It's so shitty that we put so much pressure on certain states instead of representing everyone. I don't exactly believe that's why Biden refuses to support it though and I still believe it would be better overall for dems to be consistent on the issue... I know that's not at all what you're implying so please don't take it that way because I get where you're coming from now and I agree that I don't really think it's a great time to test the legitimacy those stats, it's just my personal take.

I just see a deep and growing mistrust in the government stemming from the refusal to legalize cannabis. It's manifesting in various forms like anti-vax and dummies calling themselves libertarians and that's very concerning lol

the idea of legalization pre-2012 was the anti-tobacco/pharmaceutical industry movement. Now it's just the new tobacco pharmaceutical industry. It's so funny to see antivax "cannamoms" doing free ig promo posts for $90 cresco carts lol

The Illinois receipts are fucking nuts with their rollups of taxes.

Also hate to be the bearer of bad news but Michigan is going to end up being close to that expensive with carts in the next 3-6 months. They have completely squeezed the market for product here with not allowing caregivers to fill some of the demand that the market has. That and the delta ban by the feds has completely jacked up carts.

Its nuts and the system here in Michigan is so fucking shady. From the cultivators all the way down to the testing facilities. Testing facilities getting paid off to pass dirty goods to dispensaries bringing in untested product through the back door. It is absolutely nuts on what has gone on and I know a very small amount of the details, I am sure the whole story is even more bonkers.

I mean one of the biggest dispensaries in the state is owned by guys who had brands that were testing dirty with the Vitamin E shit and were still using it in their carts when they knew not to. That says all I need to know.

There just seems to be no accountability in certain areas of government and there's so much money in weed that corruption is extremely lucrative. Testing labs are probably the most corrupt aspect of it all because any lab owner can convince a government inspector that the procedures are legit when the government inspector doesn't know shit about the procedures in the first place. Also that inspector is probably paid off too so it doesn't even matter lol

Watching Missouri have their extremely well written amendment get twisted and turned into a hollow shell by corruption in plain view really took a lot of my faith in the cannabis industry and even in local and state level government away.

I knew all I needed to know when I saw what the testing companies were paying the people doing the actual testing. Giant red flag.
