Imagine how many voters we could gain if Biden just came out and fully committed to legalizing it

It's amazing how for the past 3 years NJ had a dem gov and dem legislature and was never able to reach a deal. I'm confident voters will vote yes to legalize it this year though

Yeah it should've been passed last year. Absolute embarrassment that they couldn't whip the votes for it and had to go this route.

what is the demo of people who wouldn't vote for Biden over Trump, but would vote if he comes out in favor of legalization? Libertarian stoners? I sadly think he loses more support than he gains.

Smart move by Biden. People are losing their shit on Facebook over this Tax Return news. So many fights from the pro trump crowd.

I feel like this is a huge problem right now. Everyone in the country knows it shouldn't be illegal so when you have politicians saying it shouldn't be legalized yet people immediately dismiss them as another out of touch candidate that has zero interests in changing things so why even bother?

I would say well over half of the politically apathetic/uninvolved stoners I know believe something along the lines of at least trump said it's a good way for states to make money. As soon as I explain how wrong that statement is I get hit with well Biden still refuses blah blah blah... and he didn't do anything when Obama was president so blah blah blah.

Dems will rue the day if cons ever add it to their platform.

  15. It's supported by a very large swath of the Dem caucus, including Chuck fricking Schumer. They're not being outflanked by something they've been continually trying to get done over the past few years.

  17. I feel like if Biden comes out and says he fully endorses legalizing marijuana, Trump will take it and run so fucking hard by making it sound like it's more dangerous than anything else in the whole world, and his followers and people on the fence will stay firmly on Trump's side.

People aren't voting for president based on what chuck schumer is doing. Biden refusing to commit is a problem and officially coming out in favor would help greatly.

  19. It's really not, but I was commenting on the "Dems will rue the day if cons ever add it to their platform."

Dem's won't "rue" the day. They'll be glad they can get the legislation they've been trying to get passed for years (more introduced by Kamala herself in the senate) can finally become law.
