There needs to be some kind of punishment if they just have it off or something because I feel like that happens way too much. But yeah I mean if they always had them on and every cop used it then I'm sure it would be really good.

Yeah I mean it's pretty clear to me that this will be the final election that is even close to "free and fair" probably ever in this country if Trump wins. They'll be complete sham elections going forward if he gets four more years.

I’m not gonna argue about it today, but the right don’t have a good political strategy either. Both sides assign too much magical thinking to the other in terms of strategy.

 

100%. Even if you take "The left" out of it and just talk strictly party politics, the Democratic Party fucking sucks at politics.

 

I don't know if they have a good political strategy persay, but they are generally better on getting on message and closing ranks IMO. Part of that is just the poison of how right wing brain/thinking works, but

 

Biden needs to systematically and very forcefully call out Trump's lies in real time during the debates. That's going to be critical.

 

Republicans would tell you the opposite.

 

Is the debate schedule set?

 

No, just the time window and the amount of debates at 3, as far as I can tell.
I mentioned this because of the strategy discussion. I think the debates between Biden and Trump are going to be too important.
Trump needs to be put in place by being called out and not being able to worm out of it. The debate is the ideal setting, if the Dem team is smart about it.

Unfortunately VP debates by comparison will probably be dismissed. Unless undecideds get curious and check in.

 

Yeah I don’t have high hopes Biden can systematically break down anything in a debate but I think he’ll come off as normal and I think that will be enough compared to Trump

 

I think in part, the right also has a lower standard to meet. You can be a bigot, a racist, sexist, rapist, etc. and face less scrutiny or receive full on acceptance and have those things celebrated than in liberal and leftist circles.
