  1. Because they don’t wanna help his numbers with his base like the last impeachment did. Having that be the talk, the dems investigating and impeaching, didn’t play great with the populace at large. It looked so partisan so that’s one edge they have to walk. I think everyone is terrified that any move 2-5% anywhere changes the result and so you get tweets and publicity. Calling a session to attack Trump when the pandemic and people need help also probably doesn’t play well even though the house already passed a bill in may. At least that’s my guess.

Investigating the President and relevant figures for trying to destroy the most popular government agency and the way most people plan on voting seems like it would fair much better with the public than the Ukraine thing in my opinion.

Maybe it would have looked less partisan if they bothered trying to impeach him on one of the million more obvious crimes he committed, rather than something that many people didn't consider to be a crime even if he was guilty of doing it. Idk. The house screwed that one up big time

  4. I can write their copy: “while we’re here trying to get things done for the Americans the democrats are once again obsessed with impeachment, while Trump is fighting for you they’re suing him and blocking any negotiations to get you relief.”

that on Fox 24-7 is probably why they’re not gonna impeach again

  5. They screwed up impeaching him on something that was impeachable? I don’t understand. *Nothing* they impeached him for was gonna get actual bipartisan support.

I think fucking with the usps and mail in ballots is different enough that it won’t have the same impact, that being growing his support. Of course his base will be outraged but ok I think this is worth it. Something needs to be done to get him to back off and if dems can think of something else fine but do something. This is the power they have.

You were talking about the opinion of the populace at large, though, not whether it had bipartisan support in the senate or if it warranted impeachment. I remember at least one senator said they believed he did it, but they still didn't consider it a crime. Many citizens agreed that it seemed pretty weak. More outraged citizens brings more pressure on their leaders. Republicans are pissed about not getting their prescriptions, too

    Yeah, you're probably right

  8. Why? Why with how we’ve seen Fox simply make *mask wearing* and the deaths of 200k people something that isn’t moving the needle as it should would this be the one?
Why would he back off and not double down on it? They know the impeachment playbook to run they just did it. I bet he’d love to run against Adam and Nancy instead of Biden right now. I’m not saying it’s good, I’m just looking at the political reality of where we are.

  9. If you don’t think that’ll be cut in half within two weeks of Fox going at it I don’t know what to say. They’ve got old people taking drugs they shouldn’t and thinking the pandemic is a fake as we speak. The ads and calls to action are being made and are out there. I don’t think this is gonna shake lose any new movement against the bastard though.

I really hope I'm just having a panic attack.

All of a sudden today at 5, I couldn't breathe. My back is killing me. I threw up some stuff like I was fluid overloaded (typical for me sometimes, dialysis in the AM). I just want to lay down and sleep but I cant breathe. No fever.

This could be really bad guys.

Isn’t Trump getting crushed in the polls right now? You don’t think the virus response has moved the needle?
I think holding public hearings exposing what he has done to the post office could harm him. I also think if dems can show what he’s doing is a clearly a legal violation he may back off and claim the election was rigged but at least votes will be counted. I don’t really know but we need to do something. Again if there is a better alternative fine but just letting him do this might swing the election on its own and even if not it will definitely embolden him to do more.

    Jason’s right.

To me, this is what it was always gonna come down to: you aren’t going to beat trump through process, you have to beat him at politics. Hide-a-Joe seems to be working for Dems. Probably their best bet going forward is to stick with it, let Trump bury himself, and just cherry pick attacks based on his performance. I think covid is tailor made for Joe to cover his biggest weakness (being seen and heard by the American people). If i were a Dem, I’d be saying let Trump polarize people and agitate anyone left of like John fuckin Kasich.

Crushed in the general sense. Not crushed where he needs to actually lose in the right states. Still a decent chance at winning right now cause of the EC.
I just don’t see it. We saw what the investigations and trials did during Brett and Impeachment and I don’t think he’s gonna back down. I think he’d tell everyone to ignore summons and that he’d pardon them if they get in trouble like before.

And your best case scenario is now putting all the vulnerable congress people into another impeachment vote right before a very tight election. I’m not sure we’d even have the House votes on that. I know many congresspeople that don’t wanna have that be what they’re answering about right now in their districts. I’m frustrated and feel helpless.

The ratio on this is incredible.

Fuck, I'm really sorry. Crossing my fingers for you that it's just a panic attack, too :concerned:.

I know when I had a panic attack when this all started, my fiance told me to lie on the ground with my legs propped up and to take deep breaths. It seemed to help me a bit after awhile. But I'm not saying that to write-off your symptoms either - if you truly feel in your gut that something is wrong here, I hope you can get the medical help you need. Wishing you the absolute best

Its most likely fluid overload. But why do is shortness of breath the #1 indicator. I can't lay down.

    Thank you.
