I literally don't know what exactly can be done to fix the postal service right now. The senate isn't going to be giving them money anything soon if at all, Trump obviously isn't gonna do it. Does congress have authority to step in and remove DeJoy? I don't think they do, I think the board of governors would have to do it and they are the ones that appointed DeJoy so there is no way in hell that would happen.

And we can also assume that there will be limited polling locations open because of COVID, so if we don't have a functional mail-in voting system in place it'll just be a clusterfuck. Some people possibly end up not even with a polling location near them so voting by mail is not only most convenient but possibly their only option. Then you have waiting in extremely long lines, which will disproportionately impact areas with high minority populations no doubt.

i'm honestly afraid that millions(?) of mail in ballots will just not be counted.

That seems like a given at this point considering what we already saw in NY.

In the mid 2000s when I was in college I had a Poli sci professor who made a remark that millions of votes are uncounted and thrown away in any given presidential election. He didn’t go into it but I’ve always remembered that.

Yeah I mean....I don’t think there’s anything they can do. Not sure if the senate dems can force a vote on the house bill or whatever

They SHOULD be out in front of cameras 24/7 making a spectacle of this though.

I don't expect it to happen overnight but this should be the number one thing Democrats are pushing right now in terms of messaging. Flood the airwaves with commercials about what's going on, bring it up constantly in interviews, do whatever it takes to make sure every American knows what Trump is doing with this. Don't let it be just another thing caught in the shuffle of all the other terrible things

Yeah, they might not have the power or votes, but they could at least do more to hammer things home to the voters, and the House can and should impeach him again like Schatz mentioned.

I don't care if the impeachment is fruitless, this is a far more damning reason than last time and the public deserves to see republicans trying to explain why it's okay that the president is stealing our votes. They have a far weaker argument now than the last time around

The dems been should of calling trump and gop fascists. they call you communists and Marxists. only difference would be calling them fashies would be correct.

    Not here. Isn't happening. Supporter

Dems have the house. Why not investigate and try to charge impeachment? You have the guy saying he’s trying to stop vote by mail, which is a legal way to vote. Subpoena people, this new postmaster whoever. The house has some power here.
