  3. About a third of the vote statewide has been counting and medicaid expansion is winning by about 5%. And only one precinct each in STL city and county so a lot of "yes" vote yet to come. Starting to get hopeful

It's currently a coin flip as to whether poor people will get free medical care or be left to fend for themselves.

    This country, man.

Someone has to explain to me how a group of people merely stating a political opinion (such as encouraging votes against a despicable and corrupt politician) is an example of cancel culture, while condemning said display of freedom of speech (and in several cases blacklisting those peacefully supporting a position) is... perfectly acceptable? It's almost as though "cancel culture" has become the new "snowflake" or "states rights", i.e. something solely used to defend the vile ideology of right-wing America

hahaha. I can only slightly confirm—-I was asked what type of after school activities/sports id be willing to get into, but our principal asks that of everyone because he’s been trying to build the school community back up because up until about 3 years ago, the school had been losing students every year for like 7-8 years.

Love how easy it is to weaponize “cancel culture” as harmful to open debate by accusing anyone who disagrees with you to be canceling you, making no open debate possible. Great that there’s been hand wringing and media focus on this for three decades. Not dumb and bad at all.

IIRC there’s a Tina Fey Weekend Update joke from the Bush era where his Secretary of Interior didn’t know he was in charge or “the outside”
