The only way to talk to politicians - from Bernie to Tom Cotton - is the way Minneapolis treated Jacob Frey today. Do not coddle or stan any one of them.

Seriously, i can’t tell you how sweet it is watching BS liberals see their ambition crash against the movement like this. The Mayor of my hometown got chased out of his fancy gentrified-neighborhood dinner tonight. Chef-kissing for eternity.

I was there as well. Was so impressed at how everyone was wearing a mask and did fairly well with the social distancing. Since my wife is pregnant, we’ve been wary of participating in mass gatherings but we decided to join today and were pleasantly surprised by that.

He’s upset people are saying that police budgets eat up most of a city’s budget when in reality it’s schools (tho sometimes the school budget goes by district instead of city). He thinks it’s a “hiding the ball” tactic. These are the harms that he always cares most about: someone talking about policy and budgeting nuances slightly incorrectly, even when his correction does not materially alter the substance of the person’s argument whatsoever

Didn’t even want to give props to Stewart here but he actually nailed it, in a way that a lot of libs today are failing. You don’t need to excuse the riots are “good” or separate the “good protestors” from the “bad evil rioters.” Just acknowledge that riots do not come out of thin air, but are the result of decades of neglect / harm

Yeah, getting mad at people for rioting or looting after systemic neglect/abuse/dehumanization is like getting mad at the tide for rolling in. We know the conditions that create it. It’s what you should expect.

also, correct - for a professional writer, he is consistently horrible at conveying his thoughts over Twitter lol

I mean for left wingers like us it doesn’t really mean shit but for normie people who barely pay attention to politics, it’s a pretty huge deal. 2 out of the last 3 Republican nominees for President are not voting for the Republican nominee for president, so it’ll probably make big headlines.

And tbh the 3rd nominee missing there prob wouldn’t vote for Trump at this point either if he were alive lol
