Baldwin isn’t tacos, she’s a dogshit sandwich cause literally no one was considering her.

Seems like a very weird vote considering he wanted more witnesses

  4. And, there we go. Data getting fixed. Deval Patrick's surge will be shortlived but forever in my memory.

She's a US senator. She wouldn't be "Completely unvetted"

Outside of a Warren/Pete or Pete/Warren ticket there really isn't a VP compromise that would work here. A Biden/Sanders ticket would be disastrous. There are far better VP choices for each of the candidates than other candidates in the race.

I also don't think a candidate taking pieces of another candidates platform would work well enough because people wouldn't really trust it. I already don't trust Biden to do the things he's saying he's gonna do if he promises to shift left I'll trust him even less.

  8. That moment when your day became "arguing about Tammy Baldwin being installed as the democratic nominee for president" is the moment where we all coulda made better choices. I can't believe this is still happening. I can't believe anyone thinks it's a good idea, but the continued triple down is just ... madness now.

  15. That is true. It has hurt Pete's momentum quite a bit. He woulda gotten a fuck ton more if it didn't play out this way.

So I'm looking at expected delegate results. Its kinda mind blowing how dumb the dems are at this.

There are three sets of delegates that actually have voting power:

Delegates that get distributed at the congressional district level; PLEO (party level elected officials) and then at large delegates, both of which are distributed statewide.

The problem is that the delegate totals for PLEOs and at-large are calculated separately.

Iowa has 5 PLEO delegates and 9 at-large delegates.

If they were just like "divy up these 14 total statewide delegates" the delegates they get would be

    Pete: 4.383234349
    Bernie: 4.099771633
    Warren: 2.968707142
    Biden: 2.548286877

Way it works is everyone gets their whole number of delegates, and then the highest numbers round up. So you're left with Pete: 4 Bernie: 4 Warren: 3 Biden 3

But instead of doing it that way, they split up the PLEOs and the at large delegates separately

So for the 5 PLEOs you've got

    Pete: 1.565
    Bernie: 1.464
    Warren: 1.060
    Biden: 0.910

And so Pete gets 2, Bernie and Warren get 1, Biden gets 1

Then for the 9 At large you've got

    Pete: 2.818
    Bernie: 2.636
    Warren: 1.908
    Biden: 1.638

Which gives Pete 3, Bernie Warren and Biden all get 3.

So you're left with a breakdown of 5/3/3/3

So Pete gets an extra delegate and Bernie loses one all because of the funny way they do their delegate math >:-(

Idk what the post-election timeline is for iowa elections, and i can't find anything quickly on either the IDP, the IA secretary of state, or the IA revised statutes sites, but the amount of stress y'all are placing on yourselves over these partial results is unnecessary until the results are certified and the audit/canvas of election is complete. In CO our audit/canvas can take up to 22 days after the election.

Can’t believe they’re just giving all the Delegates to Tammy, but that does make more sense than Pete getting a rounding error or whatever. Long live emperor Tammy.

The fact that no one involved in this discussion on either side has made a Tammy! map jeb style just shows me that we don’t have any competent meme makers here
