The people freaking out on twitter about Warren sending a relatively innocuous campaign fundraising email out about didn't help the situation. It should have died there, instead there was a lot of pearl clutching "how dare you" antics in response to the Warren fan pearl clutching antics about the talking point.

I still haven't found a way to get really angry at either side of this argumet lol. It just doesn't seem that big a deal to me but everyone else is acting like it's the actual World War 3.

Can we just fast forward to the scene where they're at the same place in Iowa and hug it out in front of the cameras? I guess we could get some of that tomorrow night.

The email wasn’t innocuous, it was promoting a lie.

 

Because not every candidate has the resources to campaign in 50 states at once.

The staggered system is good. But every election cycle should change the order so it isn't two of the whitest states going first every time.

 

You're not wrong, but a lot of liz voters have him as a 2nd choice and if they go with her bs that could dissuade them going to him and instead go to biden or pete. It's not going to impact Bernie voters, they'll probably raise a shit ton of money and knock on more doors. In the end you don't want a bullshit smear impacting the choices of voters at the end of a primary and this doubling down is an attempt to. The way the msm will seize on this constantly will be endless and annoying as fuck.

unfortunately Sanders supporters, desperate to show "Bernie bros" are a myth, and using it as an opportunity to create further division and tribalism

Warren, who's fundraising of a manufactured/planted Sanders snafu, is the real victim here I guess.

I figured he was going to at least try to stay in through Iowa. Pretty crazy.

Also sucks now that every major minority candidate has dropped out before the first primary vote (though I guess Yang counts as a "major" candidate now). Steyer and Bloomberg are sucking up a lot of oxygen. Not enough to hurt the frontrunners but probably enough to prevent the Bookers and Harris and Castros of the world from getting any traction as a long shot.

 

Hmm....I could maybe see this as a problem. However, I think most of the Liz voters that have Bernie as a 2nd choice probably won't be turned off enough by this in a few weeks time. I think the hillary bots that are for Liz are already the built in never-Bernie types of her support and the ones willing to call Bernie their 2nd choice probably aren't like that. At least I hope so anyway.

 

The best way to prove that you are going to reject tribalism in favor of unity is to simply reject the premise, as opposed to assuming bad faith:

"I know Bernie, we are friends, and I know that this isn't representative of the campaign he is running. I trust that, if this memo is indeed real, the Bernie campaign will swiftly rectify it.

More importantly, I will not be so easily drawn into a media-created feud. etc."
