Sanders’ courage is evident in the first word he uses to describe himself: “Socialist”. In a country where Communism is still the dirtiest of ideological dirty words, in a climate where even liberalism is considered radical, and Socialism is immediately and perhaps willfully confused with Communism, a politician dares to call himself a socialist? He does indeed. Here is someone who has “looked into his own soul” and expressed an ideology, the endorsement of which, in today’s political atmosphere, is analogous to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Even though he has lived through a time in which an admitted socialist could not act in a film, let alone hold a Congressional seat, Sanders is not afraid to be candid about his political persuasion.

So I found out by reconsolidating my three student loans to a servicer partnered with my company, I can save around $300 a month.

One of those loans is a federal loan. Do I dare consolidate that one alongside the other two, knowing that a president who enacts student loan forgiveness will likely only be able to forgive government loans in the beginning?

 

Yeah I'd go ahead with it; $300 is a pretty decent chunk of change to save. It will most likely just be federal loans in the beginning, but I know (at least Bernie has stated) that they plan on working private loans into it as well. It'll just take more time working out with the private companies how that would work. But saving $300 up front now is pretty nice, and talking so much on eliminating student debt, without including private loans, would be a pretty dumb thing to do on their part

I knew there wasn't a progressive running in the primary but damn, wow.

 

Yeahh I could definitely use the extra cash now that my rent went up $150 and I'll likely need to get a car loan at some point because my car that I have all paid off is probably not going to last me past the winter. Might have to bite the bullet on that one.
