i work at a bank. love 2 log onto this thread and feel like a piece of shit bc i have a job at one of the few places that can help me manage 6 figures in student loan debt.

I live in a the part of Queens that is gentrefied-ish, the neighborhood right next to LIC where Amazon HQ would go up, but I can live well enough a good neighborhood in any borough with 100k.

That's what I thought, but with 100k it will definitely be different, definitely.

Imagine if folks could understand how much the average American would save if all their basic life expenses came from paying a simple tax.

 

My sister in law's bf lives in LIC and he works as a lawyer at a decent sized lawfirm in NYC. Dude is broke as shiiiiit due to his student loans.

Yeah, but does he actually do anything to try and change the racist institution? Like, rat out the bad cops or, at the very least, support institutional reform via policy making? Even if said policies might make his job a little harder to do?

.....because buddy, let me tell you, even if he does say and do those things, we're still not gonna accept that he wants things to be different. We'll drag him just as bad as the cops who just say their good cops but don't actually rat out the bad ones.

I know what rent is in that area and the issue of his brokeness seems to be loans.

Fun fact, there are a lot of kids living in those buildings who are millionares back in China just living in luxury apartments for school.

our household income is ~250k and we have more than that combined in student loan debt and it is fucking crippling. so i work at a bank bc if i didn’t it would be much less than 250k and much worse. thanks, that’s my ted talk
