What I use right now.

 

zunes were a rare instance of microsoft having better design than apple, at least second gen ones.

 

Now that I think about it, my first player was a smaller one (forget the brand) but at most held 150 songs. I got the Zen my senior year of college. Meanwhile my roommate/best friend rocked the original iPod for a good 7 years

I had a second gen Zune Microsoft sent me back in the day. The software was horrific and the hardware felt cheap. No way was it better than the iPods of the time.

I had a second gen Zune and a Zune HD and loved both. Pretty sure the Zune HD had a version of Project Gotham Racing that was really fun.

 

They were wild. Then they tossed that ugly ass giant font interface on them right before Windows Phone failed.

 

Every school had one (1) zune kid

 

That’s the first generation, they were hideous and buggy as hell. Second generation looked and worked much better:

I don't think I've ever seen a Zune in the flesh

I had 2 IPODs I think, besides ITUNES being not exactly user friendly, and it being too much work to add and delete music, I loved it

 

That doesn’t look better lol that’s the ugly ass huge font interface of the HD era.

 

I liked that interface. It was simple and intuitive.

That’s the one that I had. Garbage ass device.

 

I owned one. It was horrible. I gave it away to an ex girlfriend.

 

Yeah, they clearly weren’t popular. But I liked what they were doing with it.

 

Trying to play albums or navigate back and forth with their unresponsive menus was torture. I’m mad just thinking about it again. Everything was six layers deep and the dumb back button never worked.

 

Sounds like you had a bad device or software version. It was super snappy and responsive when I had one. Worked like a charm for years then having to carry another device around didn’t make sense, especially once full on streaming was widely available.
