like, obviously the death should be investigated more. there is definitely a fishy smell to things and we need to understand more.

But suicidal people are often in "good spirits" before they kill themselves. It feels people are getting so caught up in conspiracy theories they are losing sight of very real problems with the prison industry, and with how mental health works.

I'd rather the focus be on understanding how did this happen, and what policies can be put in place to prevent it from happening again rather than jumping to conclusions without all the evidence.

  5. Sorry man I for one do not want the lasting legacy and conversation around Jeffrey Epstein to be about fucking mental health and how the prison system failed him

Like if you have been following this case and its history and actually believe these “policy failures” are just coincidences please step into my office clucky I have a bridge that could be yours for just the price of my student loans

ya this is the prison industry that let him out 12 hours a day to his office after being convicted of prostitution with a minor

He wasn’t in good spirits. He had already been reported to have tried to kill himself like 1-2 weeks ago. That just points more to it not being guard negligence. Talk about problems with prison suicide or negligence or whatever all you want, but it’s comical to act like this is just some typical case that’s indicative of the general criminal system

but ultimately, regardless of weather or not the failures are coincidences or were exploited by someone to get him killed, they still need to be identified and fixed.

if someone did have him killed, they almost certainly covered their tracks well enough to not get caught.

so lets focus our energy on where we can actually make changes rather than wild speculation that ultimately won't change anything.

people were literally posting a tweet were people claimed he was in good spirits...

If someone tries to kill themselves just two weeks ago, and then succeeds a second time... the guards are being negligent. Are they being willfully negligent because someone paid them to look the other way? Or do they simply not care enough because the whole system is fucked? I'm not sure. But it seems very likely to me guard negligence played a role, and starting with why the guards were negligent seems like a good way to try and figure out what actually happened.

I hate how our prison system leads to the systematic death of suicidal politically connected billionaires accused of mass sex crimes, and what’s worse is I have absolutely no idea how we can prevent it from happening again in the future. It’s all just part of the system I guess shrug

  15. I mean, he didn't try to kill himself before lol

That’s basically exactly what we’re saying. And that is far beyond negligence, it’s literally just being an accomplice

  18. yeah there was no good conclusions yet about what exactly happened 8 days ago. i didn't see any reporting that didn't say he "appear[ed] to have" attempted suicide

and I'm saying lets investigate what happened and find out.

you seem to want to start from pre-made conclusions and work your way backwards, but that isn't how successful investigations work.
