I really hate the idea that we need to respect people because they hold office. It’s “respect your elders” bullshit. You do not deserve anything resembling respect unless your actions warrant it. Do the right thing and don’t be a vile piece of shit and you will be respected. I’m livid.

It's such a shitty situation. Like, who wants to move to a state where the gun laws are absurd, the health care situation is even worse, and simple ideas like "women have the right to their bodies" are rejected.

And any way to actually change our system of government will need constitutional changes. Which we won't get without changing the demographics of at least 4 states.

It's supposed to be hard to change what the founder created. That's supposed to be a "feature."

I was saying this earlier I really really hope that since they got what they wanted their base won’t be nearly as fired up as they would have been if it went the other way. A month is plenty of time for them to return to complacency. So long as we don’t do the same.
