I didn't really like rye before having it in context of a reuben-like (aka non meat version) sandwich. Still don't really like it otherwise

 

Okay.....true. The cinnamon sugar pretzel is a goddamn revelation.

 

When my girlfriend who grew up in England saw crumpets at the grocer she was ecstatic and said we had to buy them.

When I pointed out they look like English Muffins she was very confused.

if the pretzel itself isn't great (I've had some pretty bad/over salted stadium pretzels) then yeah some mustard or cheese or something helps. Auntie Anne’s I'll just have as-is

like i get it, it's not the same as an egg everything, but if you just accept that and try to take it as something else entirely, they're goddamn delicious

now if we want to talk about calling it something other than a bagel i'm 100% for that conversation

 

I enjoy a plain toasted cinnamon raisin or a French toast once in awhile, maybe some apple or almond butter spread on it

 

also i would never put lox on a sweet bagel but that's just me.
