Franklin has one precinct left and Delaware has 28.

This looks over. Gonna come up painfully short.

All said still a great result though. Flip every house race this much in November and dems take the house with ease.

Also for real, how bullshit are Ohio's congress districts? I'm looking at the map and noticing every funny shaped district is blue. Ridiculous to extent people go to deny Americas proper representation.

Have this feeling she is going to lose, hopefully having the ballot initiatives still there keep some enthusiasm there.

Wait, if balderson doesn't win by over .5% it goes to an automatic recount? Lol

Just to remind people, this same special election is gonna replay in November so like... it's not thattt bad and GOP probably isn't gonna spend as many millions on balderson again a few months later

Dems aren't gonna spend as much either.

I think its more likely they don't win this seat in November but still retake the house than it is the win the seat in november.

They spent like anything on this random o Connor dude? Let alone endorsed him? I haven't seen him get nearly the Jake lamb treatment

I keep dreaming up this scenario where they accidentally (through one of their hastily written policies) order the deportation of everyone who is a descendant of someone who came through Ellis Island.

Take it from a Jets fan - just don't. Wish I could be as optimistic as everyone else, but I just know I'm going to be sitting on here in November wondering how the Democrats came up just short in taking back the House. I'm sure there will be tons of close races in places "that have gone GOP for the last 30 years!", but they'll come up short by a field goal.

And then we'll hear for the next two years about how all of these districts are in play in 2020 and Trump is in trouble...etc, etc, etc, until he's re-elected.

Yeah I know the polls say things are looking good, but I'll never get the sight of 98% chance of Hillary winning out of my mind. I'm sure there will be great Democrat turnout, but Fox News and Trump are getting the Republicans out too. And every Trump rally is going to be televised until November - but good luck seeing one Democratic rally on tv.

  16. No one should be wondering ... we know why ... the gerrymandering has made minority rule on this map an almost guarantee. To win is going to be very hard.

    Go fight for it.

I am disappointed but unsurprised by the results in Michigan. Most of the boomer libs on Facebook were all about her and a large percentage of people on my friends list are in the film industry because that’s my field as well. Gretchen told all of those people that she would bring back the film incentive program that Rick Snyder cut off at the knees and they bought it wholesale. Those people (and there are more here than you might think) turned out in droves for her. Abdul also said he’d work on bringing it back but he didn’t push it to the forefront of his campaign because, frankly, that shit matters very little compared to what we are facing as a societal whole. It bothers the hell out of me that film folk care more about their “industry” in Michigan than the well being of everyone else, but hey...that’s how we got Trump isn’t it? Not that I’m comparing Whitmer to Trump at all, but you get the picture.

Honestly I just do not see the film incentive program returning to this state any time soon, and certainly not in the capacity it came roaring through with back in the late 2000s. If you really want to work in film, well, I mean...why are you in Michigan? Dream about all of those film studios they’re totally going to build here all you want, but the industry is just not here. Atlanta picked up where we left off and ran with it. It’s not coming back.

    Sorry. Feeling bitter.

Edit: Yeah. And then there’s fucking Shri.
