Lovett made an interesting point about how this entire ordeal shows that we've become "used" to so much of this, that Trump probably wouldn't have tried this two years ago, and there would have been more backlash, huge protests, if he did this right after his election, but now we've got the propaganda machine spinning, people are just tired of all the Trump news, and it makes shit like this even easier to do, and that should scare us for what the next few years could bring.
