  5. But there's so much going on that has relatively little to do with Trump. They just had the Moon-Kim summit like 3 weeks ago or whatever. That was legitimately important, this mostly serves to legitimize that. Unfortunately you can't really do anything in Korea without the US agreeing, no matter how theatrical it is

  6. A recent survey found that 88.4 percent of South Koreans support the April 27 joint peace declaration by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his South Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-in. And 81 percent of South Koreans expressed optimism about the Trump-Kim summit.

Ahn says she is frustrated and discouraged that many U.S. establishment liberals are deeply disconnected from the decades-long peace struggle led by South Koreans. Any peace deal must necessarily involve the United States, and unless U.S. progressives want to condemn the Korean people to another two to six years of military escalation, Trump will have to be involved in that process. Given Trump’s proven willingness to turn on a dime and engage in dangerous brinkmanship with North Korea, she argues, it is especially reckless for self-professed liberals to pressure the president to be more confrontational. “It is very dangerous to pressure Trump to be hardline,” says Ahn. “We have to put all of our efforts into ensuring this goes well and is not undermined.”

  21. New York attorney general sues Trump and family over charity, claiming 'illegal conduct'

    • New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood sued President Donald Trump, three of his adult children, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump, and the Donald J. Trump Foundation charity on Thursday.
    • Underwood alleges "a pattern of persistent illegal conduct" for more than a decade that included "extensive unlawful political coordination with the Trump presidential campaign."
    • The AG is seeking $2.8 million in restitution and wants to dissolve the foundation.

This disgusts me. especially that it’s happening in my hometown. This city has its problems, but the people here (99% Hispanic, I believe, maybe 98%) are proud of their heritage/ they came from while also being proud to live in America. We even have Sombrero Festival every Februrary downtown (no school, etc) that celebrates the friendship between both sides of the border, and the respect we have for each other. I wish I could drive over there and pick up those kids on during their free time and get them somewhere safe.
