Everytime I see the word infanticide on his twitter used as a synonym for abortion I want to find him and beat him to a pulp and I'm really not a physical person at all. I just hate him that much. I know that's not how rational humans handle things but sometimes my unga bunga caveman comes out and it's usually triggered when I read his tweets.

Finding cases where people have been killed by undocumented illegal aliens strikes me as the same type of thinking that leads to having sub-zero temps due to the arctic blast and responding with “HA! I knew global warming was bullshit!” Yes, if you go researching you will find cases where someone has been murdered by someone who was in this country illegally, but the statistics show that it is the exception and not the rule. You can pick any demographic and go looking for negative things. You could write the names of a bunch of countries down on little pieces of paper and then pick one at random out of a hat and then go find people from that country who have murdered someone or killed someone while drunk driving or whatever it is that you want to find.

just don't bother. their entire agenda makes no sense.
    gun deaths - who cares
    abortion - child murder
    healthcare - socialist horseshit
    cops and military - heroes

every other position they have is an actual contradiction and their stupid ideology is only kept alive by antiquated voter laws like gerrymandering and voting on work days and voter ID laws.

Oh I know, I get mad with all of it, but that word just makes me so mad because the conservative base eats it up.

I love how his phrase is "facts don't care about your feelings," but then he spouts off bullshit that says abortion is murder. It's just constant contradiction with him and I want to hit him. very very hard in his face. I should probably get off Twitter.

I'm still not in on the mail voting after the Florida and Georgia stuff. I just feel like a lot of people would get their votes in too late. I know I know, it works elsewhere.

just give me AVR and extended early voting times and a national holiday on election day and I'll be satisfied. I get off for election day anyway so I already know it's kind of fun to sit at home and read all the election predictions and shit

"Three questions, at random here we go...

    1) What qualifies you to be president of the United States?"

How is that a random question haha

  12. Mail voting is incredible. I am a political junkie and don’t wanna go anywhere. I’d be less inclined to vote if I had to go to a polling place. That says a lot about how much we disincentivize voting.

let's go all in on voting rights. if the whole country is doing it states will figure out the best most efficient way and it will work, expecting florida to get it right is the wrong state to count on, it doesn't matter if it's mail or in person voting they find a way to fuck it up.

I'm all for every single dem going strong on voting rights.

Yeah, I live two and a half blocks from my polling station and it's directly on my way to work. I would still prefer to vote by mail

wrap yourself in petals for armor.

It's also nice to be able to sit down with the ballot and take your time looking up each candidate. I'm in NY and our voting laws are shit, I am an informed voter and have been going to every state and local election since 2016 and even I get into the booth and see candidates I don't know or didn't even know would be on the ballot. It helps to be able to sit down and fill out your ballot with references in front of you.

I don't think we should transform completely to a mail voting system but I think having the option in every state is good. I prefer to vote in person tbh, but I know many wouldn't want to and would find it way more convenient to vote by mail.

But here's a question, how is voting by mail different than absentee voting? Or is it basically the same thing just everyone gets a ballot to mail in?

I also wouldn't trust the post office and the election officials to get it where it needs to be on time and counted. Eff that GIMMIE MY GODDAMN STICKER

A poll worker told me to put my phone away as I took a picture for the gram and that's definitely voter suppression.

  24. How frigid polar vortex blasts are connected to global warming
Because of rapid Arctic warming, the north/south temperature difference has diminished. This reduces pressure differences between the Arctic and mid-latitudes, weakening jet stream winds. And just as slow-moving rivers typically take a winding route, a slower-flowing jet stream tends to meander.

Large north/south undulations in the jet stream generate wave energy in the atmosphere. If they are wavy and persistent enough, the energy can travel upward and disrupt the stratospheric polar vortex. Sometimes this upper vortex becomes so distorted that it splits into two or more swirling eddies.

These “daughter” vortices tend to wander southward, bringing their very cold air with them and leaving behind a warmer-than-normal Arctic.

    Good bookmark/article to have.
