She will be on the VP shortlist as well---especially if a man wins the nomination.

Huh. I always thought The Late Show was live. Surprised to see a clip of a future episode

She is my darkhorse to win the nom, but it also depends on how many people are still in it by/at Iowa. If this field is still 12-15 candidates deep by Iowa, I think it'll crush her chances. I mean, lets see....Gillibrand, Warren, Harris, Biden, Booker, Sanders, Castro, Beto, Brown, Klobuchar...hard to imagine anything less than that goes into Iowa. And unlike the cluster fuckery of the GOP field of 2016, I think all of these people are relatively popular amongst the base. This primary is going to be insane. Hard to see a way it doesn't become a brokered convention. Hopefully it's peaceful.

If Bernie goes to brokered convention and doesn't get the nomination, he needs to absolutely demand chairmanship of some important committees. Same with Warren.

If Bernie doesn’t run, Gillibrand very likely would get my vote. She probably won’t make it and will be stuck behind in a pack of many other candidates, but she should definitely be considered for VP if she doesn’t get the nom

Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner are also Hillsong members and I don't think they're openly homophobic now but they're still Evangelical and sketchy

Ah okay gotcha. Yeah I don't know why, but I thought I've seen episodes of Colbert's show where they make mention that it's live and ragging on guests for cursing a little more than other shows. I just got a totally different vibe from Conan or James Corden's shows

  13. Was only a matter of time until brokered convention was uttered. How dare you.

Not sure if it was just Letterman or maybe others but he would tape two episodes on Thursdays just so he didn’t have to come in on Fridays

Also just your casual reminder that Texas, California, Virginia, and North Carolina are all in the first Super Tuesday.

TBF, MysteryKnight mentioned it a couple weeks back, but...I mean, how does it not? Unless someone really picks up steam, I feel like it's gonna be tough for anyone to get to the delegate count needed, specially with Cali and Texas both so early....lots of opportunity to spread out large numbers of delegates there..

  17. I can see them all going for different candidates lol

  18. I think someone’s gonna pick up steam. Others are gonna drop out. For quite a few it’s about raising their profile.

A brokered convention will cause chaos. No one wants that. Not even those running.

Exactly....and with proportional give outs in some (all? I can't find a good resource for what the rules are going to be in all the states for 2020) of those states....that's a lotttt of spread out delegates.

I could also see the first 4 primaries going to 4 different people so that no one goes into that Super Tuesday with any real momentum. But Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nevada? Tell me that doesn't feel like 4 different winners...something like, say, Klobuchar, Bernie, Booker, Harris?

  20. People will drop out, endorse, and deals will be made, coalitions made, and consensus will build around 3-4 quickly enough.

(It’s one of many reasons why we don’t want Biden to run.)

Well,I guess I should specify that I mean we don't have a clear winner after the final primaries, not necessarily that they'll hold a vote on the floor that doesn't produce a candidate. I agree that I would believe that those who are running would cut deals ahead of time to pledge their delegates to someone else before we ever got to the first floor vote.

Like I said, if it's Bernie cutting a deal, he needs to secure...what? He's already chair of Budget....What's next most important? They probably wouldn't give him Judiciary since he's not even on there. Energy and Natural Resources I guess. They prob won't give him Appropriations either, especially of Leahy isn't retired. He wouldn't ask for it either.

  23. I think it’s too early to worry about that. And I actually think the process will whittle it down quickly enough.

(Bernie needs to tie up his loose ends and announce by March though.)
