Ari's skin reminds me of all the guidettes and their "tans" growing up in Italian American, New Jersey so I'm not like... too startled.

But yeah there is definitely something to her skin getting browner and imbalance in beauty standards when it comes to white women getting "tans" and darker skin as well as an association with it being a more risque, sexy, and edgy aesthetic.
