That same person somehow also wrote this actually correct (from a conservative POV) take. You'd think that 2016 would have made them realize that incessant coverage, even if completely negative, only helps bolster the person if they don't back down from it

Yeah I think coalitions are a way to go and hate that building them with rural white areas is racist despite not appealing to their racism or offering racism as a solution to economic distress and poor conditions and instead offering class based solutions. The OPs experiences do suck, but I don't think you lose anything in building these coalitions. There is a whole race first vs class debate which really frustrates me.
