Today’s the official 2 year anniversary of Covid

 

First it was Ben Shapiro and now it’s Tucker, just wild

havent been to a dentist in almost 5 years. real punx get gingivitis

 

So I found a pharmacy near me with tests, was a kit of 2 for $32. Wanted to test myself just to be safe since I saw a lot of people on Christmas and went out to dinner on Christmas Eve.

My grandma wasn’t feeling well today so we decided to test her with one of the tests. My mom went in her house to help her do it while I waited outside, and my mom messed up the first test so it was invalid. She used the 2nd one and my grandma tested positive. She’s 91 so kinda scary but she is vaccinated and so far just feels like a mild cold.

So now I need to go find somewhere to buy an at-home test. I haven’t seen her since Monday, but honestly if anything she may have gotten it from the family gathering on Christmas which means I could have been exposed there too. I did hear someone else that was there on Christmas isn’t feeling well but he didn’t get tested yet.

anyway, fun times!

 

Having Covid is no fun. My partner lost their sense of taste and smell.

 

I’d really like to get a teeth cleaning but I’m not setting foot in a dentists office until covid is much much much much more under control. Don’t care how safe anyone tells me it is lol

 

I pushed my dentist visit a year to last fall and it was so terrifying having someone’s fingers in my mouth. I’m currently set to go back in February and I’m definitely going to cancel at this rate.

 

My cousin was arguing to me on Christmas that “the mining for electric car batteries is 10x worse than anything fossil fuels will ever do”.

I honestly haven’t done much research regarding it so I didn’t have a rebuttal, it just sounded wrong. But does he have a point? I imagine saying 10x worse is still grossly exaggerated but again I am not familiar with the process

 

Cars were a bad idea

 

I'm not familiar enough with the environmental impacts of the mining for resources used in car batteries (besides the fact that it's bad and often dispossesses indigenous peoples of their land) but I do know that the labor process for mining things like lithium and cobalt in central Africa specifically is among the most exploitative in the world

 

i mean thats an exaggeration but the amount of damage done that goes into mining for electric cars renders it basically moot to own one in order to 'help the environment'

 

Bring back the trolly
