I am highly skeptical that all but the nerdiest of nerds and the most fanatical of parents pay the slightest attention to stuff like school/park board races

Going to bed. Virginia's over, Buffalo's over, all the races I care about in NYC are called (not the ballot proposals though, which are disappointing at the moment as well). I assume we won't get NJ tonight, so I don't think I'll miss anything. But one day, I'd like an election night where I don't go to sleep feeling "bleh"

I'm off to bed. Murphy should pull this off, but we just have no idea on the mail-in ballots, it's annoying because each county reports it differently. The presumed remaining counties are mostly in dem counties. Certainly don't expect a call tonight.

Also, looks like public question 1 (allow betting on college sports) is not going to pass, which is disappointing.

Our school board had 8 people running for 3 seats. The guy who ran solely on “No CRT” got by far the most votes tonight…

Thankfully the other two seats went to incumbents and not some of the other crazies running.

I feel like though that the ultra wealthy wouldn’t let the GOP go hog wild with the no voting thing or the oppressive minority rule thing because it would fuck with their profits ultimately and they wouldn’t tolerate that.

People are already clamoring to say that it’s white people who voted to keep the Minneapolis PD, but this map makes it pretty clear that it’s an age divide more than anything. So much of the green spots are dominated by people under 30. And the whole northwest corner of the city - and the red area directly south of downtown - are heavily black.

The final NJ numbers are gonna be a bit telling here.

Might show a very similar swing to VA, if not more so. And CRT wasn't a campaign issue there.

Now sure, to some extent, CRT is part of the overall strategy that republicans have used to fire up their base while dems aren't as motivated to get out to the polls.

But I do wonder if CRT might be a bit of a red herring. Dems need to focus less on "how did this become an issue that turned people out to the polls" and more on "how can we drum up issues that turn people out to the polls"
