I'd argue it's somehow worse than that in terms of messaging. Somehow Democratic messaging has made it so that the vast majority of people (and even sizeable numbers of Republicans) in this country support nearly every part of the bill, yet the common reaction even among a lot of Dems is "this is a very left-wing bill that may be going to far". Somehow (according to the most recent Pew poll) only 49% of people actually support the reconciliation bill despite most of the individual provisions often polling in the 70s.

 

yup. and of course, controlling the media is definitely part of messaging there is also only so much they can do there. a lot of the framing of the bill as some far left wing bill is completely out of their control, done by people who want to see it fail. but still feels like they could be doing a much better job pushing back on the false narrative.

I’ve noticed the fast food restaurants around my town are closing much earlier, like 7 or 8. Kinda crazy.

 

Same. Gas stations, too. The one across the street from me went from being 24 hours to closing at 10pm every night. Kinda sucks because it was very convenient for late night snacks haha
