yeah the health/wellness stuff and the smoking I knew was already around, just wondering if they’d expand it.

we get nothing like that as far as I know because we basically don’t pay premiums. Our state and district cover the whole thing. They always try and encourage us to pick the cheaper plans every year tho lol

 

So I still have my Dads insurance because I was disabled before 22. It’s my secondary to Medicare because of kidney disease. I’ll only have Medicare to cover my medications for three years and then it drops off. My spouses boss offers BCBS and pays for it (employee+family) and we’re going to talk to him about adding me to his. It’s not the best plan but my Dads insurance is so ridiculous. Everything is contracted out and they’re not willing to cover half of my meds. The only thing I’m concerned about is driving up the cost of the insurance (that his boss pays for) Is that a thing?

 

That’s a boss’ responsibility to worry about, not you

 

I absolutely get that. We have a very unique situation with them. They’re family friends and have been incredibly generous with my husbands time off ANY time he needed it. No questions asked. He paid his insurance while he stayed home with me for months at the beginning of the pandemic, all my transplant stuff, etc

 

I don't really expect an inheritance either. I'm not sure about my dad's new job but I was making more than him for awhile, plus they're divorced and don't have that combined income.

 

The premium the employer pays will be higher, or whatever percentage of the premium. But that should be it unless I’m missing something.
