Nah, once they take Congress back next year they'll probably eliminate the filibuster themselves. They won't need to worry about the Dems passing things by simple majority for decades because that's how long it will be before the Dems have unified control in Washington again. If the republic even lasts that long, of course.

 

I'm sure the media will do a great job of covering the violence of last night's supreme court decision.

 

Also, someone tell Breyer that Scalia died unexpectedly and but for an unprecedented power grab from McConnell, he WOULD have been replaced by someone who had opposing views.

Scalia and RBG are literally blaring red sirens screaming for him to retire if his legacy is genuinely a concern for him.

also the liberal justices not speaking out publically and denouncing their colleagues while conservatives dictate policy from the bench in the shadow docket is nothing short of complicit. I’m sick of hearing about meaningless “scathing” dissents and then watching them all be photo’d together smiling.

 

It is literally what the conservative justices are counting on.

Either the liberal justices break with “decorum,” at which point they can then accuse the liberals of breaking the status quo, or they just sit there and only speak out through “scathing” dissents and give everything the veneer of normalcy and obscuring the gravity of what’s actually happening.

And the liberals are predictably too cowardly to take the heat by speaking out.

 

Yeah I’d assume they’re all friends at the end of the day.
