I don’t even use my air conditioner (can’t stand the noise) but any temp above 72 degrees is hot.

I never use my a/c but my landlords raised our electricity bill to $250 when we don’t even have a kitchen so I’m cranking that baby all summer

Part of my job in an ER!! (Where everyone is treated regardless of ability to pay) is collecting copays. Straight Medicare and public aid don’t have copay’s but Medicare replacement copay’s range 90-250$ and commercial insurance usually ranges $50-1000$. Combined with outpatient, scheduling, and ER, we’re supposed to collect $180k a month….ER usually gets 10k a month. It’s such a horrible part of my job. It’s sometimes someone’s worst day and asking for money physically makes me ill

Yea, I couldn’t do that. I talk to people on their worst days but they are coming to us for legal help. They want to talk to us and need our help. I don’t think I could do it if I then asked them for money immediately.

Same. Happy for people that apparently feel the earth differently than we do and don’t sweat when they breathe, but keeping your AC at anything above like 73 is truly lunatic shit

Pre-pandemic I worked an office job for 3.5 years and I was constantly freezing/shivering and gradually lost a bunch of weight that I think what contributed was I burnt a bunch of calories each day. I’d have a hoodie on hand even in the dead of summer.

I was told 70-72 is the optimal temperature for a sleeping baby so that's what we have it on every night

im about to move into my own place again and im gonna be much better about my electricity use than i have been in the past lol. i still owe the philadelphia electric company like 500 bucks from my last apartment. thankfully im pretty sure the company that takes care of the st louis area's electric has lower rates. i went all out on my at&t internet plan tho and went with 1k mbs lol

Since we moved into our house we keep it at 72 since any lower strains the AC but I’d keep it at 68 or lower if I could. In the winter I keep it at like 64 or 66 and just bundle up. Love being cold.

I've never had an air conditioner where you could actually set an exact temp, but I usually have it as high as it can go at night. In part because I have noisy neighbors and don't want to be woken up at 3 in the morning, but also because it needs to be under 70 for me to be able to sleep. It's currently 68 outside here and I'm trying to go to sleep without the AC, but I feel like I might not have much success

My place is so poorly insulted that the ac is basically fighting the whole day. I have struggled to get it below 80 for most of the summer, let alone 78.

We have a swamp cooler and keep it anywhere from 68-70. Anything above 70 is wild to me.

Adding your house temp to my list of excuses to not come over in the summer my introverted ass thanks you.
