I'd heard of KiwiFarms before somewhere and a story about one of the people that committed suicide because of them. Can't remember where.

But anyway, KiwiFarms is strong evidence that humanity was a mistake.

 

it was a focus group so yeah actually probably 4 of them lol

 

Imagine buying teachers these instead of… paper, or pens, or a working projector.

We just buy those cheap shoe racks and hang them on the door for students to put their phone in when they enter the room.

 

A few teachers here tried using those and couldn’t get the kids to comply. Then you have the aholes who would steal them…

I get that the algorithms are parasitical -- you see outrage content, you engage with outrage content, and the algorithm sees all engagement the same and so shows you more outrage content so you'll engage with this

But seeing something like this get recommended on twitter under "Space agencies and companies" is just so.... fuck twitter. And its hardly a one of trend on my twitter feed. Basically everything recommended regardless of topic is some far right twisted version of things.

 

Trump won Ohio by roughly the same vote in 20 as he did in 16, by around 8%. In between, in 2018, Brown won in Ohio by almost 7%. In the other statewide races that cycle, Ohio Dems lost by 4% or more. Always wonder about the people who voted against all the other Dems besides Brown.

 

@Jason Tate When posting links to articles, what determines whether the text shown is the article title, or the letters/numbers of the link itself? Maybe a future project would be to add a box below the box you enter the link itself, where you could determine what text you want shown (which I’ve seen on a few other forums)

after reading the replies and qts around the phone bag issue, seeing a horde of 14-18 year olds using woke language to say their teachers are literal are fascists for taking their phones for 45 minutes at a time, I am now in favor of making phones illegal for minors

 

If you're on desktop you can always just type out your text, highlight it, then click the chain link and paste the URL. not quite as convenient but accomplishes the same
