I was worried about my anxiety when we had ours but tbh concentrating on him means less time I'm in my own thoughts making myself anxious :crylaugh:

The mom (my friend) at least is pretty liberal, so it's good for indoctrination, no? You know, future elections in 20 years, if they still happen, and that sort of thing. Come on, David, don't forget the cause here!

Space em out, man! At least get one into the free government provided indoctrination centers so you can concentrate on indoctrinating just 2 at a time yourself!

Pretty sure I want to be a dad one day, but I'm enjoying my life without kids at the moment.

Also, with the student loan forgiveness, I want to know how we landed on $10k. It seems like it's just the most the Biden administration thought they could forgive without coming under too much criticism from the center and right.

  14. I thought I read somewhere that it’s basically 1/3 of the debt, so it’s cost plus greatest impact for that cost is my guess. But I have no real idea.

Kids are cool once they are somewhat independent. I am not going to lie, and I’m probably the opposite of most parents, but I HATED the baby phase. Feeding, diapers, car seats, no sleeping, constantly holding them 24/7. That was all exhausting. People think the baby phase is cute and honestly it’s not.

But now that my kids are 5 and 8 they’re like…little adults. They wake up on their own, go downstairs, get their own breakfast, watch TV, go play outside with friends in the backyard, play video games. I don’t need to monitor them 24/7 or hold their hand. I can do normal stuff with them and they can keep up.

And as my son gets older, it’s just like hanging out with a (really small) friend. Like, I had a shitty day of work today (see 4 hour active shooting training post earlier) and I came home and my son and I played catch for a while and then went to the basketball courts to shoot hoops.

    That’s cool.

My wife and I are also very lucky that her mom doesn’t work and is available at the drop of a dime to watch them for us when we want to go out and still have a social life, which as we get older isn’t as much anymore, buts it’s always an option nonetheless.

Waiting for the gov to cut me a check for the student loans I already paid off kidding, I think. Hope this helps people though.

so it’s not that big of a time commitment you just have to pay basically a second mortgage for childcare?

I think just Mayo Pete’s dad who translated Gramsci which is quite a time consuming task and maybe Kamala’s dad who wasn’t in her life that much.

This guy is probably as good as Dave, just a bit more freedom to make predictions. Plus CNN also called it so yeah, wins in the bag.

A weird race because 1) Its literally like a two month term that in the grand scheme of things does not matter at all and is being redistricted to be significantly more red 2) Its a district Biden won by ~2% in 2020 but the Dem won by like 12%, so a pretty big swing in that regard.

But at the same time, most people were predicting it to flip tonight (Recent poll had it at R+8). And if midterms hold at Biden's popular vote levels... probably a good sign for dems come nov.

Yeah but a cheap mortgage! Lol….ours is 1125 a month I think, but we need morning care since we’re both teachers so that bumps it up to 12…which is right around where our mortgage is actually! But yeah if you bought a house now with these interest rates and prices, a mortgage for our house would be closer to 2 grand a month now, maybe a little less
