In my opinion and experience they will almost certainly lease the land if it’s offered. And in order to hold those leases they will almost certainly build pads and drill. Whether they produce a lot will depend on the market, and whether they can get more petro plants and hydrogen plants that will use a bunch of gas to go forward. Which is something else this bill will unfortunately help them with. Not sure it will be enough to increase production that much though, they’re already sitting on a lot of gas.

    It me.

I am not ignorant to the fact that there are some things that he cannot do because of the shitfucks in congress, so that is noted. But the fact that he hasn't signed an executive order every single day doing good things completely in his control is unacceptable. At best the elderly leadership has no stomach for this fight and at worst will do anything to keep the status quo. Painting him as feckless and sleepy while somewhat accurate really undermines the fact that he and the people he surrounds himself with think that doing nothing is the goal.

Whatever hope I may have had with this administration went fully out the window when they just let Roe die without any semblance of protecting access. No conference calls, no nothing. Just fucking Pelosi singing on the capital steps while the majority of Americans got firmly put into second class citizenry and the clock got turned back 50 years. Fucking ghoul shit.

So basically what she is saying is "the bad news is that what the federal reserve is doing is helping"

Almost as if Republicans would rather the economy tank than see the Biden administration manage to stave off a full blown recession

yeah i have absolutely no optimism for the future of this country and have to disconnect myself from the political discourse and just focus on myself and my immediate surroundings and what i can do to live a happy life and influence those around me in positive ways, thats the only way i can keep my mental health, well, healthy because if i stay focused on politics im going to just get pessimistic and doompilled

Well I think he's invoking a legit worry to attack the very good news that a lot of people got jobs haha.

But it is a legit worry that the Fed will take this news and decide it's itme to do another huge rate hike. Which at this point I'm convinced the money supply clearly aint the problem here. I mean it's a small small part of it, but the much bigger issue is, IMO, 1. Oil prices which are not a money supply issue, and 2. Supply chain issues beyond oil, which are again not a money supply issue.

Like....we need healthy workers and to not havea virus constantly knocking people out of work to untie the knots in the supply chain, not less moeny available to be loaned out to home buyers and businesses! Imo

Not for nothing but Biden did issue a few EOs on abortion in the weeks after the decision

It is unhinged that any one of us are allowed to just go ahead and drive a car. That most of our country’s infrastructure and lack of public transit is designed to get as many of us behind a wheel as possible. Cars are extremely dumb.

i just bought a new car for the first time in a year and a half lol. but its basically impossible to exist in the st louis suburbs without one, public transit simply does not exist here, and even downtown its utterly pathetic compared to a city like philly where i comfortably lived without a car for the last year and a half. i basically got one out of necessity, but i do like driving a lot ngl

You're not wrong. And I am heated. However with like a once and a lifetime leak of an opinion with 6 weeks to mobilize an EO right after the ruling that we all knew was coming dropped is fucking unacceptable.

Yeah I have a car that I love driving, and obviously Los Angeles more than almost any other major city insists that you drive. I just wish it were different

I tried to take advantage of Denver's free public transit month yesterday, but unfortunately, the issue isn't the fare, it's the unreliable and too infrequent service. I was going to a bar that's a 20-minute drive, but it would have been an hour by bus (assuming everything arrives on time). I ended up biking, which took about 40 minutes.

I don't have expectations of public transit ever being quicker than the car, but it should absolutely not take 3x as long.

same deal around here with the buses. They have weird routes that don’t make much sense and you have to connect on 2 or 3 different routes to get to places and the time between making those connections makes a 10-20 minute trip suddenly take an hour

I mean ideally if you're in a city, public should be better than a car. cities should be designed to discourage car use. cars require parking which wastes space, increasing housing costs, and they put everyone else at risk. (and of course, that also means frequent routes to the suburbs so people don't need a car to get into the city)

can we ever actually except to get there in any city in north america? probably not. but one can dream

Whatever happened to those congressional investigations on the SC and Roe? Just going to let the judicial branch dictate national policy I guess

  24. I pretty much only take the bus now if I am going to be drinking or going downtown for an event where parking rates are insane
