I have a food story for you guys while we are on the topic.

Went to Taco Bell for the first time ever last week. Never again. The food was fine, I got a chicken quesadilla. Now, mind you I have gone to Moe's many times and got a quesadilla with cucumbers and olives in it, which I know everyone thinks is weird, and no one ever said anything about that when I ordered it. But I go to taco bell and order a quesadilla, and tell the cashier I want to add rice and lettuce to it. She goes, "rice?". I say, "and lettuce". She gives me the weirdest look, says "okay...if that's what you want alright then" and starts laughing. Lettuce on a quesadilla ain't even weird, come on now.

I'm not actually mad I just thought it was funny to share. Still prefer Moe's though.

Cooked and squished lettuce kinda does sound gross

 

I’ve been served a little lettuce along with rice and beans on the side but lettuce cooked within the quesadilla sounds odd

Speaking of ordering online my aunt (who has no kids of her own) insist on getting my brother and I several things for Christmas. Problem is she won’t order stuff from the internet. Her original solution was to have my mom order it after we told our aunt what we wanted. It has now turned into ordering the shit for ourselves, giving it to our mom who then gives it to our aunt who gives it to us on Christmas. It’s honestly insane.

 

Yeah he did it here too. And called out the cops and venue security

 

Pretty sure my first online purchase was a Tim Salmon jersey card on eBay.

Both my parents were good cooks growing up but in one sentence I'm about to make no one believe it:

taco night = hard shell tortillas, ground beef with the packet, cheddar or taco blend shredded kraft cheese, black olives, and chopped cucumbers. my dad added chopped tomatoes but no one else liked it.

 

This thread is interrupting my nightly ritual of doomscrolling, fuck your months and fuck your burgers

as an aside, and perhaps more appropriate for the thread, I find myself all the way across the country, honeymoon interrupted because my wife (first time I've wrote that - feel old) finally got covid, crossing my fingers that my case 2.5 months ago keeps me from getting it and adding another week to the trip. by the end of the week I'll be at nearly a month and half of this year spent in quarantine, some proactive some due to actual rona. As pro go back to regular life as I am, and I think I have a pretty healthy 'do whatever but mask when needed' view at this point, I can't say I'm not hella bummed about how many coughing people we encountered in enclosed spaces sans mask last week. rant over (tho to be continued if I test positive in the next few days)

 

My mom tested positive today, she slept at our house last night/we talked to her for a little bit when we got home late last night. Now it’s just a waiting game for us/plus I get to stress out about her being sick. She’s heading to one of those test to treat facilities tomorrow, hoping she can get remdesivir or paxlovid

I’ve still never tested positive but I know that doesn’t necessarily mean I’ve never had it. I haven’t felt sick enough though.
