My dog that passed away last year was terrified of fireworks. We tried so many things but it just was a lifelong issue. Our other dog that we still have it totally fine, but knowing what it’s like to deal with a pet who is afraid, I can’t support fireworks.

Also at my family BBQ today my cousin who is a veteran that served in Iraq was talking about how he can’t handle hearing fireworks for more than around a minute before it starts messing with his head. PTSD is an aspect many people unfortunately forget about.

 

yes and given the weekly mass shootings listening to them right outside your window is a bit unsettling

 

I'd like to clarify that I don't necessarily support setting off fireworks in a neighborhood or somewhere where they can bother/annoy/harm people, but in a safe, controlled environment where they can be properly enjoyed by whoever wants to enjoy them.

 

I’ve been on the parkway for the 4th before, it’s crowded and packed and I can’t believe anyone could discern the fireworks from the gunshots. Glad my life is in such shambles right now that I’m home alone in my apartment with half my shit in boxes

me and my gf are moving back in with my parents at the end of the week. we’ve been going through some hard times, we both were hospitalized in June I was in there for a little over a week and she’s still in there right now after 17 days, needless to say it’s been extremely hard on us and being out of work pretty much guarantees we’ll never catch up on our rent or bills and we need to go live somewhere more affordable before we lose our minds more so than we already have trying to make ends meet in this city that keeps haunting me and tempting me to go back out and use again. I can’t do it anymore.

 

Someone in my neighborhood decided to put on their own fireworks show that would rival a professional one. I can only imagine how much money they spent and all I gotta say is…… what a fucking loser lol

I will say my opinion stems mostly from being a pet owner and always, always, always finding myself at a gathering where a bunch of drunk dudes start shooting them off and me trying to dodge them. And those ones looks like shit haha

 

I’d be completely ok with banning all fireworks for personal use, besides maybe sparklers for kids. Personal firework displays are inherently dangerous and usually look like shit anyway.

Leave it to the professionals.

On the 3rd, another person in my neighborhood’s garage burned down because these fucking morons put still burning fireworks in their trash can and it caught fire. It somehow didn’t spread to the house but their garage is completely destroyed

 

Fireworks are for weenies
