My landlord is actually pretty cool. She didn't raise the rent at all or make us sign a new agreement for our next year. She also drove 2 hours to let in our ground floor neighbor because they forgot their key.

 

I accidentally had an $800 machine delivered to my old apartment and my old landlord was very quick to get back to me about it lol

It would be so easy for a reporter to simply ask her on a regular basis, "why do you run as a Democrat when you are a Republican?"

 

This is true and smoking is really gross and stupid, but it’s also true that creating restrictions on people’s consumption while never even advocating for creating substantive wide scale policy to improve people’s lives or holding accountable the companies that profit off of such harmful shit is extremely indicative of why people hate the Dems. It ends up coming off more as “We know better than you” rather than “We are truly trying to improve society.” Like beyond edgelord shit, there *is* some merit to the idea of “if you’re going to force us to live in an ever-declining shithole, at least let us indulge in some vices”
