Been seeing way too many “broken homes are the problem” posts this time around.

They really will talk themselves in circles trying to blame divorced parents for this and not just fucking admitting you don’t need a fucking gun

 

Some shooters may have mental health issues, some may come from broken homes, some may play video games BUT THEY ALL WERE ABLE TO GET GUNS AND KILL PEOPLE. No matter what mental gymnastics the right tries to pull off at the end of the day they all fucking got guns and killed people. That’s the common factor.

 

I have an anxiety disorder, my mom was a single parent, and I grew up on JRPG’s. I guess they wouldn’t want me teaching their kids…?

I've been playing violent video games my entire life and I'm a pacifist. It's such a tired argument.

If we had easy and robust access and care for mental health issues, I am confident that mass shootings would be decreased. If we had stricter access to guns, better background checks, and banned assault weapons, I am confident that mass shootings would also be decreased.

Problem is republicans don't actually care about doing either of those things

 

The missing context when Republicans talk video games: tons of first person shooters are American war propaganda, aimed at dehumanizing our “enemies” so we don’t react when a drone blows up a wedding. But, ya know, that doesn’t matter to them.

My friend is being a bootlicker (as usual) and trying to say that, despite all the reporting we have seen, all the the kids in the room were likely dead within minutes so it doesn't matter that the cops took so long to get into the room. He read the timeline with the 911 calls but doesn't believe the person calling 911 was inside with the gunman so there is no way to know that anybody was alive.

I just don't get it because it's like...I don't even really think their own police department is defending those cops at this point, they already admitted they made mistakes.

 

These people desperately need to defend the myth that good guys with guns are the answer. Even when the exact opposite happens.

I always thought he was kinda obnoxious, but he has a huge fanbase and I’m glad he’s using his
