We were briefly WFH in mid-2020 but then I think it became abundantly clear that middle management produces nothing of tangible value and only exist to poke and prod us into "results" and it is difficult to justify their existence in the virtual world with that paradigm. Cue the "you can't be successful virtually" bullshit hurled our way.

I’m lucky that I found an opportunity to work for myself out of the job I left right before covid. I now work from home permanently and only work with one other person who is a partner. I probably wouldn’t have pursued this if Covid had not been a thing and it’s crazy to think I’ve actually had something good come out of this entire mess. I now almost have a fear of going back to work into an office since it’s been so long and I hate workplace politics.

 

Just trying to kill a bunch of old people. jfc.

i dunno...don't think i want to take my chances with special elections in this environment even in "Safe blue" seats lol

Also think I prefer President Biden to President Harris ngl.....don't think I would have thought/said that back when the primary started.

 

Yeah, I'm all for skepticism at US and Ukrainian (as well as Russian, of course) claims until legitimate evidence is brought forward, but this seems pretty clear cut. At the very least, the burden of proof is very, very much on the people making claims for which there's no evidence. Do we know exactly what happened there? Not in most cases, although there are videos of Russian soldiers killing the bicyclist, but it doesn't take a major logical leap to assume that the occupying army who had just cleared out was responsible. There's grounds to criticize the Ukrainian army on (like the new videos of them executing Russian POWs with their hands tied behind their backs or even the general incorporation of Azov into their military) without turning ourselves into literal Russian apologists and conspiracy theorists
