It would be funny if they genuinely did make a bunch of completely apolitical childrens shows about just being nice and learning the alphabet and whatever. Like oh alright that's fine I guess, whatever

So from listening the man that lead the effort to unionize that Amazon warehouse he had some pretty strong words for AOC. Anybody having any more info on this? Sounds like she stood the group up that he was leading?

“The reason Amazon works so well is because people must work when Amazon says you must work.”

Hmm… what other forms of economy can this be used to describe??

  12. I didn’t know where else to put this, from stranger on my IG feed, but uh

  17. Did you look up the firm before posting this? If yes, how much closer to the party do you suppose it would need to be before it could in your view be called a Dem operation?

they’d have to actually work for the political party IMO. As it is they’re a private company who the Dems often turn to for polling/consultation/etc. I very much doubt the Dem Party is telling them what other clients to take on. Obviously certain members of the party are going to be more friendly towards Amazon and excourage it, but that’s different than “The DNC was behind this effort”. Amazon flashed them money and they took it.

  20. You know what sucks?

Romney’s view on this is both consistent and coherent.

I don’t mean to say it’s moral or good, but that it’s politically scary that this is the only “good” option for the (unfortunately gargantuan) majority who don’t want to see fundamental reorganization of the economy.

There are few better arguments for pie-in-the-sky working class mobilization efforts than the inevitability of the financial dystopia that Mitt and Them have been openly discussing for decades.

Think tanks / consulting firms / lobbying groups like those and the staffs of elected officials are virtually a revolving door. It’s a distinction without a difference.

  22. I’ve already been called condescending for this once today but David honestly I think you’re skipping over a lot of kinda basic realities of the political & industrial landscape here.

like I’d doubt that many folks from this firm who go on talk shows and podcasts aren’t introduced as Democratic pollsters. Must we really pretend that “private” is a meaningful term in an explicitly political industry?

Again, Jen Psaki worked for this firm lol

the same can be said about media outlets and staffs/former elected officials, but I would very much not consider “the liberal media” to be taking direction from the DNC lol

Fox and RNC you might have a case for.

But certain members of these parties will be the types that go and work for those polling firms and consultant companies, so while they represent a part of the party’s personal views, that’s a different level than insinuating “the Democratic Party backed this”, IMO. Maybe the Dems did! But the simple act of Amazon hiring the well known friendly to corporate Dems firm isn’t the smoking gun people seem to be hinting it is

I’m not saying Biden’s on the horn telling Bezos “here’s how you shut down the Amazon union drive” but the people who work for Democrats can go to work for Amazon to make life worse for the people who work at this warehouse. That should be instructive about the values of the people we are talking about.
