  3. lil distinction

  4. I really do see where you're coming from, but Biden cannot possibly educate a reporter on googleable principles of diplomacy and (caveat: I haven't watched the exchange) the question seems to me like bad faith or naivete.

  6. putin being a monster and ukraine having a nazi militia problem can both be true

Seriously. Some of the comments about his speaking ability are lame as hell too

Yeah, but like...we have a "nazi militia" problem too lol. The far right nazis won like 2% of the vote there last I saw....the fact that some of them will inevitably be involved in fighting a foreign invader isn't really worth a mention right now TBH.

There’s been like 50 things I’ve seen today that could get that same classification

Sanctions seem a little weak TBH....the SWIFT thing is EU's fault (of course the narrative here will be "well Biden should be a leader and get it done!"), but not targeting energy companies seems stupid unless they're saving it for later.

For those that don't know, there's an American team in Formula 1, but the major funder of the team is a Russian company, Uralkali, and one of the team's drivers is a Russian, the son of the Uralkali owner

  12. not saying otherwise. just thought that post seemed to be insinuating that because putin is referencing ukraine nazis as a flimsy excuse for his horrible actions it means he invented it completely. i agree it’s not the most pressing distinction, but we’re all here out of our depth talking bullshit on a message board, so:shrug:

Targeting Russian energy companies is a very tricky proposition, since so much of Europe's energy needs are met by Russia. Energy companies seem like an easy/common sense target, but not really

  14. a lot going on today

  15. to be fair, Azov etc have been integrated into the regular army, which is pretty concerning. But your point still stands...we also have a problem with nazis in the military lol.

i'm not big brain enough to think this through fully but if i were a smaller nation who felt in anyway threatened by the US, China, Russia, etc, i'd be looking at ukraine post denuclearization and the promises not kept and feeling mighty compelled to scope out trying to build out a nuclear program

Right....part of the reason why we got them to agree was the insinuated promise of protection (and a treaty saying borders would be respected)....what country is going to se this and then ever listen to us about getting rid of nukes again?
