  1. Object lesson that in many parts of the country very bad things are still very popular.

Pretty sure it's mostly retirees and people who realize it's really cheap to live there, a lot of people are moving there lately. It's kind of like AZ, which is also why he realizes he's threatened. Those people have a lot to lose.

Honestly people who vote republican may never ever realize how harmful what they do is. It's truly terrifying.

I'm pretty sure that if my uncle didn't just disappear, I would've punched him in the face. Though, he did say he would've voted for Obama but didn't vote that election and he was an o Reilly dumbass. The effects of moving to Florida are scary.

Problem is being hte minority party in both houses gives you very little wiggle room to do that. YOu can't bring things to floor for vote, can't control the discussions being had, etc...it's why the GOP was mostly all-opposition party for the first two years of Obama's term. Once they got control of the House they could bring a bunch of bills to vote and force them to go to the Senate, and when Harry Reid would refuse to bring them to the floor for a vote, the GOP could at least say "See? We passed *insert policy here*" and promise voters that those bills that they knew would never pass was what they stood for. It's also, ironically, why they've had such a problem actualyl governing now that they have control--they realize that all of a sudden their voters are expecting them to pass those same bills they passed before and they're "Oh shit".

Some Dem Senators have done a good job of putting some ideas out there, but they're never going to get public hearings, never going to get debated on the senate floor, etc....Not easy to get momentum behind ideas when that's the reality.

Polls were saying up till the week of, that ossoff was very likely going to win and the SC race would be a complete shutout.

Right, seems to me that, once again, the polls taken closest to the election ended up being the most accurate. Different guesses for why that is in this race---some postulate the shooting of Scalise helped, or maybe GOP voters who were still on the fence started coming home in the last week, etc. It happens. Doesn't mean the "Polls were wrong" there.

I saw many that were, some saying ossoff would win by more than 5 even. Some saying republicans would win SC by 20 etc. why do you love and defend polls so much? They're not always right, listening to Steve friggin kornaki tell you your fate is sealed and the Dems suck on election day is like the worst thing ever.

Okay, polls aren't wrong but people's belief that polls can be accurate all the time or even close is way too touchy.

  25. Do you just not know how polls or math works?
