Guy on CNN (Brooks, who was there) said he believed the shooter was a white male with an assault rifle.

Did it happen last night or this morning?

 

This morning. I saw reports of baseball game and assumed it happened late last night at some independent league game somewhere but apparently it was at practice early this morning

 

Congress always have baseball/softball games; it's their practice so this was definitely targeted.

What would take for republicans to have a serious discussion about guns?

 

They will get pretty quickly from the cops were there----->the cops had guns------->we should have guns

 

As long as their narrative is good guys with guns are vigilante heroes and people like me want to take away guns nothing, we'd also have to deal with the NRA

 

The NRA is probably mobilizing as we speak, so there's really nothing that can be done. Although it will be interesting to see how Scalise himself evolves on the issue if he makes it.

EDIT: Apparently he's going to fully recover. So, yeah, let's see how he feels about guns now that he's been shot by one.
